One Technical expert from Technocrati predict the fast death of Avant Web browser. He wrote:
I have been a faithful Avant user for several years, but I think no more. I have just installed SlimBrowser. Unless I am missing something, it does everything Avant does, and more. Especially the fully customizable toolbars, with the system buttons where I want them.

So for now, it’s Bye, Bye Avant. It’s been nice knowing you. Maybe I’ll be back some day :(

SpreadIE editorial team shares its ideas about future of small web browsers.
SlimBroswer is attractive, indeed, but it sadly does not do “all that Avant does” in every nook and cranny… but one major example is that it does offer what appears to be multi-threaded operation, etc.

From what we and many others here in the Enclave have seen over a years time with both browsers, both could stand to learn a bit from each other — examples being that ieSpell is better “integrated” into Avant than in the current SlimBrowser, and SlimBrowser’s implementation of auto-fill / form fill seems “differently weird” compared to perceived easier way that Avant does it, etc.

Since we do a lot of all manner of work and web sites, podcasting / videocasting, support, etc., just to note, we do run Avant, SlimBrowser and Firefox, all installed, and it is interesting to see each one (or two or three!) in operation, in order to compare and contrast.
